I like nice things. Selvedge denim, loopwheeled tees, good teapots, running gear, all of it. That’s not automatically bad., but when one intentional purchase turns into upgrading everything else, that may be a problem.
For most of history there was a gap between wanting something and owning it. That gap is where the good decisions happened, and the last twenty-five years have been one long project to delete it.
